Red Bridge Brewing Co - Beer Label
The Brief
Red Bridge Brewing Co is a Knysna-based microbrewery specialising in hand-crafted small-batch beer.
They needed a new label design for their three flagship beers. They wanted to showcase the actual Red Bridge in Knysna, after which the brewery is named.
Solution
Each of our beers tells a story — and it all begins with the iconic Red Bridge. This unique piece of local architecture isn’t just a landmark; it’s the golden thread woven through all our label illustrations, tying flavour, character, and place into one cohesive visual journey.
The Red Bridge is more than just a backdrop — it's a symbol of adventure and local pride. A favourite spot for cycling, paddling, and lazy afternoon picnics, it represents the free-spirited energy of Knysna. These labels honour that spirit, celebrating not just a place, but a lifestyle.
Golden Ale
Golden hour in a glass.
Our Golden Ale captures the warm glow of a Knysna sunset — bright, balanced, and beautifully golden. With a gentle malt sweetness and a soft hop finish, it’s a beer made for sundowners, smiles, and slowing down.
India Pale Ale
As the full moon rises over the lagoon, casting silver over the water, this bold IPA comes into its own.
Darker in colour and richer in flavour, our India Pale Ale is a moody, complex brew with depth and intensity. Packed with hops and attitude, it’s the perfect sip for those who like their nights — and their beers — full and unforgettable.
Craft Lager
When the sun’s high and the lagoon’s calling, you need something crisp, cold, and easy — like this laid-back lager.
Clean, refreshing, and effortlessly smooth, it’s brewed for long, lazy days floating in the Knysna lagoon. No fuss.
Just flavour.
The perfect companion for sunshine, salty skin, and sandy toes.

New addition
Beneath the Red Bridge, something legendary stirs — the giant Knysna mud crab. Fierce, bold, and unmistakably local, it inspired a beer that’s just as mighty.
Like its namesake, Giant Pale Ale is not here to play small. This hop-forward pale ale claws its way to the top with a solid biscuity malt base, intense bitterness from three proudly South African hop varieties, and bright flashes of litchi and passion fruit.
